Wendy Rene: Sounds Like a Secret [Oxford American, 2008 Music Issue]

I contributed an article to the Oxford American's annual music issue on Wendy Rene, best known for her 1964 Stax single "After Laughter (Comes Tears)." It's the magazine's 10th music issue, and to celebrate, it comes with not one but two CDs. As always, rad stuff -- trust me when I say that this is always my favorite music-themed magazine to come out each year, so please hunt this down. (I say that as a fan and not a contributor -- promise!)
